　　表示數(shù)字的前綴

　　1. hemi-, semi-：半

　　hemicycle n. 半圓形;半圓形建筑

　　E.g. The inner container is stainless steel, hemicycle structure is easy to clean.

　　采用鏡面不銹鋼內(nèi)膽，四角半圓弧易清潔。

　　semiautomatic adj. 半自動(dòng)的

　　E.g. It is illegal in some countries to hunt with a semiautomatic rifle.

　　在有些地方使用半自動(dòng)步槍狩獵是違法的。

　　2. mono-, uni-： one 單一

　　monologue n. 獨(dú)白

　　E.g. Morris ignored the question and continued his monologue.

　　莫里斯不理會(huì)這個(gè)問(wèn)題，繼續(xù)他的長(zhǎng)篇大論。

　　uniform adj. 統(tǒng)一的;均勻的

　　E.g. The rows of houses were uniform in appearance.

　　3. ambi-, amphi-：兩，周圍

　　ambiguous adj. 有兩個(gè)意義的，曖昧的

　　E.g. In fact, your ambiguous words amount to a refusal.

　　實(shí)際上，你說(shuō)的那些模棱兩可的話等于是拒絕。

　　amphibian adj.兩棲的

　　E.g. It is being actively pursued by amphibian specialists.

　　許多兩棲類生物研究專家正積極的從事這項(xiàng)工作。

　　4. bi-, di-：二、雙

　　biweekly adj. 兩周一次的

　　E.g. He used to see them at the biweekly meetings.

　　他以前總是在兩周一次的會(huì)議上看到他們。

　　dioxide二氧化物

　　E.g. The proposed initiative would mandate a reduction of carbon dioxide of 40%.

　　5. tri-：三

　　triangle三角形

　　E.g. He swept a triangle with his finger.

　　他用手指在空中畫(huà)了個(gè)三角形。

　　triple三倍的

　　E.g. The mine reportedly had an accident rate triple the national average.

　　據(jù)報(bào)道，該礦事故發(fā)生率是全國(guó)平均水平的3倍。

　　6. multi-, poly-：多

　　multiform adj. 多樣的

　　E.g. We hope for multiform cooperation with new and old clients both at home and abroad.

　　公司期盼與國(guó)內(nèi)外新老客戶進(jìn)行多種形式的合作。

　　polygon多邊形

　　E.g. Boundaries of the polygon may extend to infinity.
